We are excited to announce that the University of the Witwatersrand School of Public Health, Epidemiology and Biostatistics Department-based SSACAB Programme will be facilitating a Transforming Health Data Into Information for Decision Making data short course with the South African Eastern Cape Province Department of Health data teams as part of an ongoing effort and commitment to strengthening workforce capacity and advancing skills development in the health sector.
This training aims to equip the Eastern Cape Department of Health data staff members with knowledge and tools on data entry and cleaning, data analysis, data visualisation, and data quality assurance so that they are equipped with skills on how to use data for decision-making and reporting purposes. This is in line with the SSACAB objectives of mass upscaling of health data personnel, as these data skills are key in capturing and analysing the country data that is collected in all provinces. We look forward to this engagement with the departments' stakeholders and sharing practical insights and contributing to sustainable capacity development within the public health sector.
