SAPRIN Annual Conference 2025

Dr Trust Gangaidzo attended the 2025 SAPRIN Annual Conference, held from 21–23 July. He presented on the project “Co-development of a Mental Health Data Discovery Platform and Harmonisation of Mental Health Measures for Young People in South Africa (PAMHoYA)”, on behalf of a multidisciplinary team from Wits, SAMRC, Stellenbosch University, Sol Plaatje University, and University College London. PAMHoYA is one of ten projects funded by the African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) and the Wellcome Trust (UK) under the Mental Health Data Prize Africa initiative. In his presentation, Dr Gangaidzo highlighted the urgent need for a harmonised mental health data ecosystem in South Africa to address fragmented datasets and strengthen research, surveillance, and policy for young people.
