Faith N. Mambulu-Chikankheni, a PhD fellow, presented at the 6th Global Congress for Qualitative Health Research in Sun City-North West Province. The oral presentation was titled Examining Implementation Fidelity of Guidelines for Severe Acute Malnutrition within South Africa’s Referral System: A Qualitative Comparison of Two Sub-Districts. The extent of SAM management and referral guidelines’ implementation in the study Sub-Districts was described. Furthermore, implications of infidelity during the implementation of relevant guidelines were discussed. The conference gave insightful tips on maintaining quality and rigor in conducting qualitative health research for evidence-based healthcare practices.
