One of CHP’s PhD Fellows, Shakira Choonara, was one of 200 youth scholarship recipients who travelled to the 4th Global Women Deliver Conference held in Copenhagen in May. A record number of 5889 applicants from 138 countries applied to attend this meeting. Women Deliver holds global conferences every three years for people across a multitude of sectors, cultures and issues. It is an opportunity for organizations and individuals to connect with others, and be challenged to think outside the box. Ahead of the conference, she was invited together with ambassadors, representatives and members of civil society to a lunch at the Danish Embassy in Pretoria by South Africa’s Minister of Women, Susan Shabangu.
