Dissemination of results from SARChI Governance and Accountability project

Dr Adam Fusheini, a past CHP post-doctoral fellow, visited Brits in the North West province to share the results with staff and management at the hospital on the SARChI study on Governance and Accountability in Public and Private Hospitals in South Africa. Many people were in attendance including a representative from the Provincial Department of Health (DoH). He was warmly received and the representative from the DoH agreed that although the study was conducted at the hospital, the findings were reflective of the provincial level too. The representative therefore made an informal request for a presentation next year at the provincial DoH annual seminar. The hospital CEO agreed to take onboard some of the recommendations to help improve management and governance of the hospital, which will in turn impact service delivery.
