Duane Blaauw was invited by the Gauteng Deputy Director General of Human Resource Management and development to present some of the findings of the cohort study at the local conference entitled Human Resources for the South African Health System which was held on the 28th - 29th November 2016 in Pretoria. The title of the presentation was " Career preferences and job location choices of a cohort of nurses in Gauteng and North West provinces". At this conference, Dr Blaauw also chaired a session. This was an NHI themed conference which was aimed at finding innovative solutions to the acute shortage of human resources for health in the country.
