One of CHP’s PhD Fellows, Shakira Choonara, was one of 200 youth scholarship recipients who travelled to the 4th Global Women Deliver Conference held in Copenhagen in May. A record number of 5889 applicants from 138 countries applied to attend this meeting. Women Deliver holds global conferences every three years for people across a multitude of sectors, cultures and issues. It is an opportunity for organizations and individuals to connect with others, and be challenged to think outside the box.

"What impressed me most was the Women Deliver team's emphasis on being solution-driven throughout the conference, which is rare to come across, especially in a conference setting," said Shakira. "What I enjoyed most was the opportunity for quick, effective learning about new and creative innovations (e.g. a menstrual tent) which I could take back home."
